Nicole Tongol, M.A
Clinical Associate

Nicole is a clinical associate working under the supervision of Dr. Abdulrehman. She is passionate about working with children, adolescents, and adults, adopting a collaborative, strength-based, and holistic view to treatment. She uses cognitive behaviour and acceptance and commitment therapies with diverse populations of clients across ethnicity, gender, and age. Nicole is a proud Filipina-Canadian and a doctoral student in clinical psychology at the University of Manitoba. She provides services in English, and partially in Tagalog (with a greater understanding of, and continued improvement and training in speaking the language).

Nicole has learned so much from Manitoban community organizations through collaboration and knowledge translation, and she aims to use this knowledge to improve mental health care for underserved populations. She is especially excited to work with newcomer and immigrant communities, which is the focus of her current research. She hopes to address the critical need for more inclusive services and to promote equity in family wellness for immigrant populations by co-developing programming that is culturally safe and accessible.
